The relocation of NPPN Design and Research from Lat Krabang to Chokchai 4 marks more than just a move, it signals the transformation of the firm’s identity into an open-ended, knowledge-generating platform. The new 300 sq.m. space is designed to integrate everyday architectural practice with climate adaptation innovation, allowing the company to work, exhibit, fabricate, and educate within a cohesive spatial ecosystem.

Architecturally, the project combines workspace functionality with environmental responsiveness. It rethinks the idea of an architectural office as a hybrid campus, a studio, a lab, a public forum. The building uses a combination of conventional construction and natural structural materials, including Glubam (glued laminated bamboo) to test low-carbon construction typologies and communicate material research to the public.

Outdoor-to-indoor relationships are carefully choreographed, allowing passive ventilation, daylight, and controlled accessibility. Zones for private design work and public-facing engagement are clearly separated through split-level planning and controlled sightlines, ensuring both collaboration and concentration.
