Nodeul Island: The One Stage reimagines a traffic-bound artificial island in the Han River into a vibrant ecological and cultural landmark. The proposal weaves together sky-loops, eco-loops, and open public programs into a unified performative landscape that connects city, water, and community. A 1-kilometer elevated circulation loop offers 360-degree views of Seoul while generating a walkable microclimate with layered greenery and structural shade.
The concept bridges ecosystems, mobility, scenes, and cultures through nested vertical programs, gardening platforms, treetop walkways, outdoor theaters, and floating stages. Rather than isolated architectural objects, the design envisions a series of adaptive, theatrical nodes that respond to weather, seasons, and civic events. Every plaza, hill, and deck becomes a stage for interaction, supported by mobility nodes, water access, and eco-cultural learning zones.
The One Stage transforms Nodeul into a resilient and inclusive destination, Seoul’s living nest of everyday life and extraordinary moments.
