nppn design and research is a design and research firm specializing in architecture, interior architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design, with a strong focus on water adaptation solutions for both flood and drought events. With over a decade of experience, we address environmental challenges across different design scales (ranging from interior spaces to urban systems) through integrative, research-driven, and context-sensitive approaches. Our team consists of experts in Flood Risk Management, Green Building, and Computational Design, including Parametric and Generative Design methods. We believe that Resilience in Design comes from innovation, knowledge, and experimentation.
Founded in Bangkok in 2016 by Nattapoom Rub-come-in and Polpat Nil-u-bon, nppn design and research operates through a dynamic international network with offices in Bangkok, Seoul, and Tokyo under the collaborative platform The Workshop. We also run the Water Adaptation Innovation Center (WAIC), an open educational platform for sharing expertise in resilient and future-oriented design.
To advance this mission, we have established the WAIC, a dedicated research unit that works at the intersection of design and science to co-develop scalable and adaptive solutions for urban resilience. WAIC enables us to explore and implement strategies that seamlessly integrate architecture with nature-based solutions, urban water systems, and technological innovations. Our design process incorporates BIM Modeling and visualization tools, empowering clients to make well-informed choices while ensuring our solutions remain both innovative and purposefully tailored.
