The interior design of Pharmacology and Toxicology Building 2, located at TISTR Khlong 5, supports the institute’s expanding role in advanced research and public health innovation. With a total floor area of 1,200 sq.m., the building is tailored to accommodate both specialized laboratory programs and dynamic office functions, while maintaining high standards of safety, flexibility, and human comfort.

The zoning strategy clearly separates clean zones (wet labs and testing areas) from dry zones (offices, collaboration rooms) to ensure contamination control. Circulation routes are intuitive, with modular lab units placed along daylight-access corridors, and support spaces such as storage, utilities, and researcher rest areas distributed efficiently across the floorplate.

Interior finishes were selected for both performance and maintenance: chemical-resistant worktops, non-slip vinyl flooring, and antimicrobial wall coatings. Attention is paid to acoustic quality and thermal comfort, with dropped acoustic ceilings, indirect lighting, and HVAC zoning adapted to lab and office needs. Color tones remain neutral and calming, promoting sustained concentration in a research-intensive environment.

As research requirements evolve, the building interior is designed for easy spatial reconfiguration. Lab furniture systems and technical infrastructure (power, air, data) are modular and track-based, enabling future adaptation with minimal disruption. This allows TISTR to stay ahead of future pharmacological and toxicological research demands while offering a safe, flexible, and forward-thinking workplace.
